There's a "bend it" joke in here somewhere, but I'll spare you.

David Beckham, of footballing fame, recently shared that he spent time riding powder on his snowboard at Island Lake Lodge, just outside Fernie, British Columbia.

Even the best fall sometimes—Beckham explained in the caption of his post that he executed "the perfect triple somersault face plant" on the slopes during his stay. Said somersault can be seen in the video he posted.

Fernie.com reports that Beckham visited the Fernie area with his son Cruz. Their trip perfectly coincided with the recent storm cycle that's barraged British Columbia, meaning they had about 50 inches of powder to play with.

Unlike Fernie Alpine Resort, Island Lake Lodge doesn't offer lift-accessed skiing and snowboarding. Instead, it's home to 7,000 private acres of cat skiing and backcountry access. Beckham posed outside the Lodge's bright-red snow cats in one of his Instagram photos.

Professional snowboarder Shaun White wrote below Beckham's update, "We're out there."

"I might need a lesson or 2," Beckham replied, perhaps referencing his tumble.

Jokes aside, while Beckham clearly isn't a pro like White, he can handle himself well on a snowboard. Better than I would expect, to be honest. But I suppose if you master one physical activity, picking up another might come naturally.
