When football legend and husband to Posh Spice, David Beckham, isn’t grilling meat in his home bbq oasis or doing business as co-owner of the Miami MLS team, he’s riding powder on a Burton Family Tree board up at Island Lake Lodge.

Recently, Beckham was up in Fernie, British Columbia at the catboarding lodge with his son, Cruz, as well as Jamie Salters, the founder of Ride Snowboards, now CEO of Authentic Brands Group. (In 2023, ABG purchased Boardriders, which includes Roxy, Quiksilver, Billabong, and more, though the individual brands are run by licencees.) Beckham and Salters collaborated on the release of Beckham, the four-part documentary on Netflix about the Englishman’s life and career.

Of course, Beckham’s career as a pro footballer needs no introduction (you can always watch the documentary if you're less familiar). He’s one of the best athletes ever to step on the pitch. But judging by the clip he posted on the ‘gram, he falls on his snowboard just like the rest of us.

Said Beckham on his post, “What an amazing experience with friends, creating incredible memories…ending with the perfect triple somersault face plant ”

Shaun White tapped in with a comment, “We’re out there ”, to which Beckham responded, “@shaunwhite I might need a lesson or 2 ”.

Island Lake Lodge is a catskiing lodge outside of Fernie, BC with 7,000 private acres of terrain.
