“The Worm,” the “Bad Boy of Basketball,” finally gets his due as Dennis Rodman will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2026. It was announced ahead of WWE SmackDown on March 20, 2026, that Rodman will join the likes of Stephanie McMahon, AJ Styles, and Demolition in this year’s illustrious selection of trailblazers of professional wrestling.

While Rodman never wrestled for WWE, he was a firestarter when it came to celebrities wanting to go into pro wrestling to pull the trigger finally. Dennis Rodman made an indelible mark on the business as he joined Hollywood Hogan, Kevin Nash, and Scott Hall as a part of the nWo.

Fresh off winning his 4th NBA Championship, Rodman would get into the ring for the first time at the 1997 WCW Bash at the Beach to tag with Hollywood Hogan in a valiant effort against the dominating team of The Giant and Lex Luger.

Later that same year, Rodman would cost Lex Luger the WCW World Heavyweight Championship by hitting him with a baseball bat as he posed as an Impostor Sting at Road Wild, allowing his faction mate Hollywood Hogan to wrestle the title away from the Stinger.

After his 5th and final NBA Championship, Dennis Rodman would get the itch again to wrestle, and this time, he fought against the very man whom he had defended in the 1998 NBA Finals, Karl Malone of the Utah Jazz, as Rodman tagged up with Hogan again to face off against Malone and Diamond Dallas Page.

Rodman, for the second time in a row but in a different sport, bested Malone. For one final time in 1999 at WCW Road Wild, Dennis Rodman had a singles match against the iconic “Macho Man” Randy Savage. Rodman put in a good effort, but of course, he was no match for Randy Savage.

In a world where celebrities and athletes venture into the professional wrestling business for clout, Dennis Rodman proved that you can love two things at once, living the character while maintaining his status as one of the best Power Forwards and defensive forces in the NBA, on his way to winning multiple titles.

Dennis Rodman may have had a short time in wrestling, but it’s one deserving of a WWE Hall of Fame 2026 induction due to his commitment, love and respect for the business.

Congratulations to Dennis Rodman, an inductee into the 2026 WWE Hall of Fame
