Former Tennessee Vols head coach Derek Dooley announced this week that he's running for congress.
Dooley, who is the son of former Georgia Bulldogs head coach Vince Dooley, is running for a US senate seat in Georgia.
Professional politicians always put themselves first.

It’s time to put Georgia First. That’s why I’m running for Senate. pic.twitter.com/og7TdsPbQ9
Dooley is going to be recognized by most folks as the one-time head coach at Tennessee (the only head coaching job of Dooley's career).
So it shouldn't be a surprise that one of Dooley's worst moments as the head coach of the Vols has already been highlighted following the announcement that he's running for senate.
Longtime sports media personality Bomani Jones took to Twitter/X.com on Monday to remind fans that Dooley was the coach at Tennessee when the Vols lost to the LSU Tigers in Baton Rouge in 2010 due to having too many players on the field.
i'll say it again: derek is banking on being remembered as vince dooley's son, but he'll always be the dude that had 25 dudes on the field against lsu in 2010. https://t.co/exoDBZRp7j

It's been 15 years since that night in Baton Rouge, and it's a loss that's still as painful as ever for Tennessee fans.
Tennessee appeared to win the game as LSU fumbled what was supposed to be the final snap of the game.
The Vols, though, had 13 players on the field, which gave the Tigers another chance to win the game (which they did).

That would've been a signature win for Dooley, who was in his first season as Tennessee's head coach. Instead, it ended up becoming one of the most painful losses in Vols football history.
And it continues to haunt Dooley 15 years later -- even as he shifts gears in his career and swaps the headset for handshakes and politics.
