Derrick Henry Has Fiery 3-Word Reaction to Saquon Barkley’s Career Game

It’s likely too early to discuss who the NFL MVP should be considering the schedule hasn’t even hit Thanksgiving yet, but Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley is making one heck of a case to be the award’s front-runner.

Barkley entered Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Rams second in the league in rushing behind Baltimore’s Derrick Henry (1,185 yards), but he left SoFi Stadium as the league’s new leading rusher after a 255-yard, two-touchdown performance in Philly’s 37-20 win.

Barkley and Henry are the only two runners to reach 1,000 yards so far this season.

Both of Barkley’s touchdown rushes were long runs — 70 and 72 yards, respectively — giving him an NFL-best six runs of 40 or more yards this season. No other RB has more than three.

Henry, who needs 208 yards in Monday’s matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers to retake his rushing lead, was so impressed with Barkley’s performance he gave him a shoutout on X during the game.

“@saquon GO CRAZY GANGSTA!!” Henry tweeted.

Barkley’s outing on Sunday was his first career 200-yard rushing game, easily surpassing his previous career-best of 189 yards, which he set during the 2019 season when he was with the New York Giants.

With 1,392 yards rushing through 11 games, Barkley is on pace for 2,151 yards, which would be a new NFL record. If Barkley were to top 2,000 yards this season, he’d become just the ninth running back to do so, and the first since Henry accomplished the feat in 2020 (2,027 yards).

Barkley is also just 216 yards away and eight rushing touchdowns away from breaking LeSean McCoy’s single-season franchise records.
