The Detroit Pistons have a new-look roster, and with Cade Cunningham at the helm, they could make serious waves in the Eastern Conference.
The Detroit Pistons truly emerged as a serious playoff team last season. After years of floundering, new Pistons head coach JB Bickerstaff took them to the postseason for the first time in five years.
Heading into the offseason, the Pistons looked to make some roster changes. Unfortunately, the Malik Beasley controversy kept the Pistons from re-signing him.
In his place, the Pistons signed Duncan Robinson to a $48 million contract. Adding Robinson provides them with some much-needed spacing.
With a reinvigorated roster, the Pistons will be ready to attack next season and try to compete for an NBA championship.
With their roster now set, the Detroit Pistons are eagerly anticipating the start of the new NBA season in October.
Expect the Pistons to showcase this new roster soon:
Starting Lineup | Second Unit |
Cade Cunningham | Caris LeVert |
Duncan Robinson | Jaden Ivey |
Ausar Thompson | Javonte Green |
Tobias Harris | Ron Holland II |
Jalen Duren | Paul Reed |
Currently, the Pistons have a glaring lack of depth at the center position. Jalen Duren is their only natural center.
But at 6’10, Duren is also their tallest player. This should serve as a signal to the Pistons that they need to make some moves to add depth at the center position.
While the Pistons’ lack of options at the center position will certainly alarm fans, they can also holster that concern and look forward to Cade Cunningham’s upcoming season.
The #1 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft took a big leap last season, becoming an All-Star for the first time in his career.
Cunningham will only look to get better as he grows into a leadership role on the Pistons. He is truly realizing his potential.
Expect Cunningham to become an even better player next season and earn All-NBA honors as he leads the Pistons to a brilliant campaign.
