In three games last week, Johnson averaged 20 PPG and helped the Doves earn two of their three wins on the season. In the Doves first win of the week, Johnson helped lead a 73-70 upset over the Blue Checks in which he hit the go-ahead basket with only 30 seconds left in the game. In an even bigger upset, Johnson and the Diamond Doves downed Jelly Fam in overtime by a score of 82-81, in which Johnson scored 26 points, a team-high for the Doves, while also dishing out six assists and pulling down four boards
In the team’s lone loss of the week, an overtime heartbreaker at the hands of Rolling Loud, Johnson still had a spectacular game, scoring a team-best 18 points including the game-tying three at the buzzer to send the game into overtime
With his performance’s last week, Johnson sends the Diamond Doves into the playoffs with some much needed momentum, as they are set to take on the fifth seeded Blue Checks in the first round of the tournament on Tuesday at 9PM on YouTube
