Former Hockey Night in Canada host Don Cherry, one of the most iconic Canadian voices in the hockey world, has stunned fans worldwide with today's heartbreaking announcement.

Former Hockey Night in Canada host Don Cherry remains one of the more polarizing, yet nonetheless iconic, figures in professional hockey circles for his brash opinions and colorful outfits.

Having worked on his 'Grapevine' podcast since late 2019 shortly after his firing from Sportsnet, Cherry often discussed topics with his son Tim.

It looks as though it has now reached the end of the road, as Cherry announced alongside Tim that the 313th edition of the podcast would be the last.

Well, Tim, this is our last show.

Tim then interjected by saying that this final podcast was the 313th overall, and that over 6 million people from all around the world had downloaded it over the years.

How many podcasts have we done? This is our 313th, we've been listened to all around the world, and it's just amazing how many different countries, you know, people download and listen to it. We've had 6.5 million downloads, which is pretty good.

In a final sendoff, a frail-sounding Cherry, who is now 91 years old, delivered the following words:

Thanks everybody for listening, and toodle-oo!

Following his firing from Sportsnet after his controversial comments on Canadian immigrants, Cherry explained in the 1st episode of the podcast, which he originally started in the 1980s, that he was happy to be doing his new 'beautiful' podcast.

Evidently, I said something that upset Sportsnet, and they canned me, and now I'm unemployed except for doing this beautiful podcast. Just two little words just seemed to set everybody off. I lived in a vicious world and I lasted 38 years. If I've got to go, I'm glad I'm going out on my shield.
