Multiple sources are confident Roma have finally agreed all terms with Legia Warsaw for talented defender Jan Ziolkowski for €6m plus add-ons.
The negotiations had been dragging on for a few weeks and there were several other proposals, above all from the German Bundesliga.
However, the centre-back had his heart set on joining Gian Piero Gasperini’s Giallorossi and the breakthrough has arrived.
Sky Sport Italia, Fabrizio Romano and more all claim that the deal has been done for €6m (or €6.6m) plus a 10 per cent cut of the future sale fee.
He only celebrated his 20th birthday in June and is expected in the Eternal City on Friday to undergo his medical tests and sign the five-year contract.
A product of the Legia Warsaw youth academy, Ziolkowski is another reinforcement for Gasperini’s three-man defence along with ex-Hellas Verona player Daniele Ghilardi.
Roma opened their Serie A season with a 1-0 victory over Bologna at the Stadio Olimpico on Saturday evening.
