The Chicago Blackhawks are off during the NHL’s postseason after posting a 25-46-11 record in the regular season. The Blackhawks’ main goal right now is to find a new head coach to help develop a young team in star center Connor Bedard’s third season in the league.

Chicago sports have been in a slump in the last few years. Fortunately, the Chicago Cubs appear to be an exciting team with a chance to compete in the playoffs this fall. But the Chicago Sky are set to open their regular season against the Indiana Fever on Saturday after going 13-27 in 2024.

The Chicago Blackhawks sent the Sky a message

Hours before Angel Reese was set to renew her rivalry with Caitlin Clark at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, the Blackhawks sent a message to the Sky before their season.

“good luck to our friends at the @chicagosky as they tip off their season today,” the Blackhawks posted.

Blackhawks fans complained about the post

While the Blackhawks sent a message of support to their hometown team, many Chicago hockey fans don’t appear to love the Sky. Most posters left negative comments in the replies, and some had to do with Reese.

“Eeww,” wrote a fan.

“Don’t embarrass yourselves. You think Hull and Makita would pull this crap?,” posted another.

“They’ll need it with bricklayer. Reese on the team,” suggested a poster.

The Sky hinted that these types of comments were coming this season. Chicago posted a message to “stop hate” before the 2025 season.
