All attention has turned to EA Sports College Football 25 as the video game is set to end its decade-long hiatus with its release this summer. The college football world is dialed in on the video game, and players around the nation who have opted in to being in the game are set to receive $600 and a free copy of the video game.

The payouts don’t end there, though, as EA has set up a payout system for programs around the nation, too. At the end of the day, the company is rewarding the players and program who make the video game popular. Now, every FBS program is getting payment for licensing in the video game, though the amount they’ll make depends on EA Sports’ tier system, with many programs receiving less than $10,000.

EA Sports labels Oklahoma as “Tier 1” program

Again, EA used a payout system based on tiers, which they ranked using a basic scoring system using Top 25 poll results from the past decade, according to cllct, as they obtained the data through FOIA requests.

The pay difference for each tier is quite astonishing. Tier 1 programs will receive a maximum payout of $99,875.16, with Tier 2 programs receiving up to $59,925.09. Tier 3 programs then drop off to a $39,950.06 payout, and Tier 4 programs receive just $9,987.52.

Fortunately for Oklahoma, the program received the most amount of money possible, as they earned a Tier 1 ranking, along with 12 other college football programs.

Alabama, Ohio State, Clemson, Notre Dame, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Oregon, Oklahoma State, Penn State, Utah and Iowa join the Sooners as Tier 1 programs.

Oklahoma, programs locked into tier for four seasons

The payments will be consistent to each of the programs, as they’ll be payed in their respective tier for at least four years, and compensation has the ability to increase based on game sales, according to cllct.

The video game is going to make waves across college football, and Sooners fans will be able to take control of their favorite program, adding further history to a blue-blood program, adding to its seven national titles.
