Latest patch makes changes across gameplay, Ultimate Team, and Career Mode
Highlights
If you’ve been burned by kickoff goals in EA SPORTS FC 26, the latest patch is aiming to cut down on those cheap openings. Title Update 1.0.3 delivers adjustments across gameplay, Ultimate Team, Career Mode, and technical performance — with EA promising more refinements to come. The update is rolling out on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC, with Nintendo Switch 1 and 2 versions to follow.
Among the headline changes, kickoff defensive positioning has been reworked. Teams will now set up more compactly for a short window after kickoff, closing the gaps that often led to quick and unintentional attacking opportunities. The update also reduces the accuracy of acrobatic shots taken immediately after a Rainbow Flick and fixes instances where players defaulted to a trivela shot instead of a more straightforward lace strike.
Ultimate Team fans get some long-requested fixes as well. Incorrect bios on Gold Player Items have been corrected, and Ultimate Edition owners will no longer need to restart the game to claim their Season 1 Premium Pass. In Career Mode, EA has resolved a frustrating contract bug where players would act unhappy despite recently signing a deal — an error that could even trigger unwanted transfer requests.
FC 26 v1.0.3 will be dropping soon, here's what to expect:
— EA SPORTS FC Direct Communication (@EASFCDirect) October 2, 2025
- Improved defensive behavior and positioning for kick offs only.
- Addressed cases of Career Mode players acting unhappy following a new contract.
- A batch of PC centric improvements while we continue to investigate…
PC players see the largest technical improvements. Controller responsiveness issues have been patched while EA continues investigating, resolution and display settings will no longer reset after closing, and cloth physics have been optimized to reduce performance strain. The update also improves corner kick stability and addresses issues with game invites in Showcase mode.
EA SPORTS FC 26 continues to evolve with each update, and 1.0.3 shows EA’s push to balance gameplay while fixing lingering issues. With community feedback shaping future patches, fans can expect more fine-tuning ahead.
