Here are Philadelphia Eagles fans now done with watching preseason games for the team after they escaped with a 19-17 win over the New York Jets on Friday night.
There have been some great performances from players like linebackers rookie Jihaad Campbell and Jeremiah Trotter Jr. who surprised fans with their play. Even rookie safety Andrew Mukuba had a stellar game against the Cleveland Browns in Week 2 that helped him make a case for him being a starter.
Those guys were great, but one player has been a favorite among fans and Eagles media to make the 53- man roster and has shown to even gain the trust of the best players on the team.
This might be one where Cooper did most of the work in Week 1 against the Cincinnati Bengals with his six receptions for 82 yards and one touchdown. It doesn't matter because he showed in more than one game that he was ready to be a key player on the team.
The undrafted rookie came into training camp as an unknown. People had to look up the fact that he wasn't drafted by any NFL team and was attending Tarleton State just last year. Little did everyone know he was going to end up being a star in August.
Throughout the weeks at training camp, Cooper continued to make impressive catches with media members seemingly always adding him in their articles for having a good day at practice. It got to the point where he was catching balls from Jalen Hurts on the first time and would get dapped up by him time and time again. During the team's developmental periods for rookies and lower tier players, Cooper found his way to avoid it in the last week because he was playing so well.
Outside of the first preseason game, Cooper has been relatively quiet as he made just one catch for eight yards in the finale against the New York Jets. Regardless, Cooper made some noise on offense and got time on special teams with return coverage work.
There have been multiple injuries for the Eagles' receivers that has moved the team to having to go with Cooper in the lineup, but he has done more than enough to get on the 53-man roster. It's been one of the most impressive performances in training camp Eagles fans have seen in awhile. Let's see if Cooper did enough to make the final roster.
