The offensive line behind the starters has become a major problem for the Philadelphia Eagles, but they might have found a solution with someone who knows them well.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reported the Eagles have made yet another trade. This time, it's with the Jacksonville Jaguars as the Eagles pick up offensive lineman Fred Johnson for a 2026 seventh-round pick.

Johnson spent the last two seasons with the Eagles, starting six games last year. He was a big factor in helping out when starting left tackle Jordan Mailata was injured and out for a few games.
The Eagles saw a glaring issue on the offensive line in last week's 19-17 win over the New York Jets, with guys like Trevor Keegan and Kendall Lamm struggling on the line. Multiple times, both guys were getting beat off the line and rookie quarterback Kyle McCord was feeling the heat from the Jets' defensive front seven.
Johnson brings a wealth of experience that the Eagles are needing. More to that point, he played well at left tackle and proved to be a solid backup. It didn't work out in Jacksonville after signing with them in the offseason, but a return home for him might not be the worst thing for him.
Philly has not been able to get much production out of their backup linemen as they have struggled throughout training camp and preseason with holding up with pass rushers. Too many times, Eagles reporters would post about backups being bullied by defensive linemen.
This means there is a good possibility that one or more of the rookie offensive linemen might be in trouble of making the roster. It wouldn't be a surprise if they are on the practice squad to learn behind the veterans and develop further.
Eagles general manager Howie Roseman has proven that he isn't afraid to make a trade. This is the third one in the past week that helps with depth on the team. The Eagles have proved that they are serious about winning another Super Bowl in 2025.
