The good news for the Philadelphia Eagles is that they are one step closer to signing all their rookies from the 2025 NFL Draft. The bad news is that the last two are the most important.
On Tuesday afternoon, the Eagles announced on social media that they had signed former Texas Longhorns offensive tackle Cameron Williams to a four-year contract as a rookie. Philadelphia selected Williams in the sixth round of the draft.

Last year with the Longhorns, Williams started 15 games at right tackle and was named a finalist for the Joe Moore Award, which is given out to the top offensive lineman in the country. He previously played in 22 games with Texas.
Williams joins most of his Eagles draft class members, Ty Robinson, Mac McWilliams, Smael Mondon Jr., Drew Mendall, Kyle McCord, Myles Hinton, and Antwaun Powell-Ryland. Two more rookies need to sign contracts, and they are the most important ones.
Philadelphia's dilemma right now is that first-round pick Jihaad Campbell and second-round pick Andrew Mukuba have yet to sign their rookie deals. Campbell and Mukuba have big plans in the works with the Eagles, as they are integral to their defensive strategy.
The Eagles got a steal in Campbell, who fell from his projected mid-first-round prediction to late in the first round. Last year with Alabama, Campbell was a first-team All-SEC selection after leading the team with 117 tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss, five sacks, and tying a team lead with two forced fumbles.
Mukuba also had a stellar 2024 season in college with Texas, where he was fourth in the nation in interceptions with five, while adding 69 tackles, four tackles for loss, seven pass breakups, and a forced fumble. He was named to the third-team All-SEC team.
This isn't entirely out of the ordinary for the Eagles, as last year, first-round pick Quinyon Mitchell didn't sign his rookie deal until June. Philadelphia general manager Howie Roseman has been good about getting his rookies' contracts secured before training camp.
There's anticipation to get the deals done so the Eagles can focus on the 2025 season, but it's too early to hit the panic button. Expect Campbell and Mukuba signed soon and both be ready to help the team repeat as Super Bowl champions.
