Philadelphia Eagles offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland has become a legend in Philly for his ability to assemble the best offensive lines in the NFL over the past decade-plus.

Stoutland has already coached three potential Pro Football Hall of Famers with Jason Peters, Jason Kelce, and Lane Johnson. He has even turned late-round picks like Jordan Mailata into elite starters in the NFL.

This offseason, the Eagles added Kenyon Green via trade with the Houston Texans as part of the C.J. Gardner-Johnson deal and signed Matt Pryor and Kendall Lamm in free agency. Philadelphia selected three offensive linemen in the 2025 NFL Draft, including Drew Kendall, Myles Hinton, and Cameron Williams.

Despite all those additions, it was one undrafted free agent who created more buzz than all those guys combined.

Hollin Pierce is a Jeff Stoutland special that Eagles fans will love to watch

Bleacher Report writer Brent Sobleski recently wrote about one undrafted free agent on each NFL team that is the most exciting addition. Former Rutgers offensive tackle Hollin Pierce was number one on the Eagles' list that Stoutland is going to love to coach.

"The Philadelphia Eagles prefer mountainous offensive linemen, as if last year's unit with Jordan Mailata, Lane Johnson and Mekhi Becton didn't already drive that point home. The 6'8", 341-pound Hollin Pierce certainly fits the mold.

The Rutgers product started four years for the Scarlet Knights, with two seasons each on the right and left sides.

'Overall, Pierce is a chore to work around in pass protection when he has help to box rushers into his grasp, and he can trap and cover up targets in the run game to create seals and alleys,' Thorn wrote. 'However, he will struggle to win leverage, sustain and recover with his head up. With his size, crafty approach and excellent intangibles, he should be able to stick as a long-term, quality backup tackle who can get a team out of a pinch.'

If any NFL offensive-line coach can get the most out of the mammoth rookie, it will be Jeff Stoutland."

Pierce was a second-team All-Big Ten selection for Rutgers last year in 13 starts at left tackle. He showed versatility on the line as he started at right tackle in 2021 and 2022 before moving to left tackle in 2023.

Next Gen stats had Pierce ranked 18th among offensive tackles in the draft, with an overall score of 69. He also received a production score of 60, which ranked 21st, and an athleticism score of 68, which ranked 16th.

What makes Pierce an interesting prospect for the Eagles is his rare combination of size and athleticism, which is precisely what Eagles linemen need to be in Stoutland's system. He stands at a staggering six feet, eight inches tall and weighs 341 pounds.

Pierce is expected to compete with Myles Hinton and Laekin Vakalahi for the backup left tackle job behind Mailata. Hinton will be tougher competition since the Eagles selected him in the NFL Draft, but Pierce appears to be the player fans are rooting for due to his size.

The potential is insane for Pierce, and there is plenty to be excited about. If Stoutland can polish his skills on the line, Pierce could be one of the biggest steals of the draft.
