The Orlando Solar Bears have added to their forward depth with the signing of Cole Kodsi for the 2025–26 season. The 6-foot-2 winger brings a combination of size, leadership experience, and scoring touch as he prepares for his first full professional campaign.
Kodsi, 25, recently wrapped up a five-year NCAA career, including stops at Bentley University, Union College, and Canisius. The Florida-born left winger played 130 games at the collegiate level, producing 57 points (25G, 32A) while earning a reputation for two-way play and physicality.
His most productive season came in 2021–22 with Bentley, where he tallied 23 points in 33 games. Kodsi capped off his NCAA tenure with Canisius in 2024–25, adding 12 points over 31 games while continuing to contribute in all zones.
Kodsi got a taste of the ECHL late last season when he joined the Solar Bears for a nine-game stretch—six regular season appearances and three playoff games. He recorded one assist and brought a physical edge, logging nine total penalty minutes.
That brief stint offered a glimpse of Kodsi’s pro potential and gave both the player and organization a foundation to build on. Now back under contract, he’ll have a full training camp to solidify his role in Orlando’s lineup.
Before college, Kodsi played in the USHL with the Chicago Steel, Omaha Lancers, and Madison Capitols. Across 118 junior games, he posted 31 points and gained valuable experience against top-tier competition. His development in the USHL and NCAA has equipped him with the tools to transition effectively into the pro game.
With a strong camp, Kodsi could position himself for a regular role in the lineup and contribute in multiple situations. His combination of size, work ethic, and familiarity with the Solar Bears’ system makes him a name to watch as the 2025–26 season approaches. Orlando will open the new campaign at home on Friday, October 17th, 2025, when they host the Florida Everblades at the Kia Center. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 PM EDT (ECHL, 2025).
