The Tahoe Knight Monsters have announced that they’ve hired Nick Niedert as the team’s new assistant coach. He replaced Brett Boeing, who took an assistant coaching job with the Iowa Heartlanders after spending just one season in Tahoe. Prior to joining Tahoe, Niedert was expected to be the head coach of the Dandbury Hat Tricks in the FPHL. For Tahoe, they bring in someone who can help the goaltenders, as well as someone with extensive experience across various levels of professional hockey throughout their career.

Niedert, 43, joins the Knight Monsters after spending three seasons in the SPHL with the Maycon Mayhem and Vermillion Country Bobcats, with his last coaching appearance coming during the 2023-24 season. His first coaching gig came during the 2021-22 season with the Bobcats, where they went 5-46-5. Niedert would then spend the following two seasons with the Mayhem. During his time with the Mayhem, the team went 28-73-12 in 113 games.

“I am extremely excited to become part of a great team here in Tahoe, with a great affiliation in Vegas and Henderson, as well as a fantastic ownership group,” said Niedert.   “I am grateful for the opportunity and appreciate everyone involved. I am looking forward to helping build upon the success the team had last season.”
