On the ice last season, Vancouver Canucks star Elias Pettersson struggled, and in a low-key off-season, he's hidden a major piece of news from the fanbase.

The 2024/25 campaign was a disaster for the Vancouver Canucks all around, and with his play on the ice and his public feud with J.T. Miller threatening to tear the locker room apart, Elias Pettersson seemingly got the worst of it.

With just 45 points in 60 games played, Pettersson was at the centre of much criticism from the fans, so it's perhaps no surprise that he hid a major life announcement from them this off-season.

Elias Pettersson Secretly Gets Married During the Offseason

In a recently emerged photo of Pettersson, he appears to be wearing a wedding ring, something that didn't escape eagle eyed Canucks fans on social media, with many reacting to the news.

After plenty of talk surround he and his partner Katelyn Byrd, news has now been confirmed that Pettersson and the American model were married this off-season, signalling a major change behind the scenes for the former top draft pick.

While hockey was the furthest thing from Pettersson's mind when marrying his partner, having a steady life at home like this will no doubt benefit him when he returns to North America for the 2025/26 campaign, one with high expectations in Vancouver.

Ultimately, despite the trade talks, Pettersson is set to be a Canuck for a long time to come, and now with his home life settled and a wife to go home too, the hope for fans this season will be that this can help him get refocused and potentially have a career year.
