Elite prospect cancels several upcoming trips after Alabama 'made a serious splash' during recent visit

When four of the nation's most esteemed and prestigious schools are in the final list of a top prospect, it's usually a great sign of what's to come for the young man. 2026 top defensive lineman Titan Davis not only has a fitting name to be the anchor of a defense, but his taste in programs is fitting.

The Tide are favored to land Davis, per On3's recruiting predictor machine. He's also considering Michigan, but USC and Penn State have been dropped from his process. He was set to visit each of them over the next three weeks.

However, Alabama "made a serious splash" with Davis on their visit last weekend. Now, the Tide have only one competitor left: Michigan.

“I think the visit was awesome,” Davis' high school coach Terrance Poe told BOL. “They did a great job of not selling themselves, but putting a stamp on the rumors and people think about Alabama. It was a lot better than the expectations. The structure is there. The standard is the standard.”

“I tell everybody Titan is a quiet guy,” his mother Jessica Johnson told On3’s Steve Wiltfong in March. “He’s not going to be posting and bragging. Even when he goes to game days he’s not the type of kid to take out his phone and take pictures and videos. The videos that came across and he sent from that game-day visit, I knew that was special for him. I knew he hadn’t done that at any other visit or game day. I know he was excited for me to get there.”

Davis was named as one of the key players DeBoer planned to "roll the red carpet" out for during the May 30 mega-visit weekend. If DeBoer can land an earlier commitment from Davis, he can quickly move on to flipping other key targets and further solidify what could be another elite class.
