Emeri Adames scored from just inside of the penalty area in the 87th minute and the visiting Seattle Reign continued to vex the San Diego Wave by pulling off a 2-1 victory Friday.

Sally Menti added her first career NWSL goal in her second game as the Reign improved to 9-1-2 all time against the Wave, with their fourth victory in seven games at San Diego.

Claudia Dickey made three saves as Seattle (5-4-2, 17 points) found success as Laura Harvey became the first head coach in NWSL history to reach 250 career games.

Delphine Cascarino scored a goal and Kailen Sheridan made two saves for the Wave (6-3-2, 20 points), who saw their six-game unbeaten streak come to an end.

San Diego was held to a single goal one game after scoring a season-high five goals Sunday against the North Carolina Courage.

After a scoreless first half, Menti gave the Reign a 1-0 lead in the 67th minute with a blast from outside of the penalty area that was tucked just inside the left post past a diving Sheridan.

The Wave tied it at 1 on a set piece in the 75th minute when Maria Sanchez delivered a corner kick just in front of the Reign goal and Cascarino scored on the header.

Cascarino nearly gave San Diego the lead two minutes later on a rocket from the edge of the penalty area. Dickey tipped it just enough to send it off the crossbar and then off the right post before deflecting back into play.

Adames' game-winner came after she cut right then left and delivered a left-footed shot past Sheridan.
