English rugby teams now wear uniforms supplied by British Castore as their official kit provider for national competitions. England Rugby has ended its agreement with Umbro and instead chosen Castore to supply its playing kits, training apparel, travel wardrobe, team coaching attire, and staff clothing.
The Women's Rugby World Cup has sparked interest among fans across the country by scheduling its event for this coming English summer. Castore's rugby accomplishments with teams and clubs like Harlequins have given the brand international recognition through this new collaboration.
Following the approval of the new Castore rugby uniform, Ellis Genge, Zoe Aldcroft, and Maro Itoje were presented with their new gear, while Maddie Feaunati and Tatyana Heard were appointed brand ambassadors. Before additional materials become available in the summer ahead of the World Cup, Castore will release several new pieces of the kit in May.
Bill Sweeney, CEO of the Rugby Football Union (RFU), expressed that he is happy about the relationship, as it aligns with a thrilling time for English rugby. Castore provides the highest quality equipment to the English national rugby teams, and both organizations will continue to work together in the years ahead.
Under their new contract, which is better than the Umbro agreement, the Rugby Football Union pays Castore more than £5 million a year. As evidence of its commitment to rugby's growth, Castore already supplies outfits to teams like Bath, Harlequins, and Saracens. As the Women's Rugby World Cup approaches, Castore stands to gain significantly from its collaboration with England Rugby, which will increase awareness of the new team uniforms.
