'Epitome of a true sportsman,' Roger Federer effortlessly skis through Olympic champion Lindsey Vonn’s compliments as the two friends catch up for a hearty adventure

Roger Federer makes the most out of his retirement time by doing what he loves the most. He ventured into the business world, is spending more time with his children, and surprisingly went skiing with former Olympics champion Lindsey Vonn.

The 2010 Winter Olympics gold medalist had hit the slopes with longtime friend Federer. Both retired players enjoyed their time together, doing something they adore. While sharing a small glimpse of their skiing, the former Olympics winner penned down a heartfelt note of gratitude for her friend.

I finally got to ski with my friend Roger… yes, Roger Federer! Have to take some time to really reflect on what this means to me… I have admired Roger as an athlete, philanthropist, and incredible champion for so many years. Normally, people you look up to always let you down in one way or another, but not Roger. Rog is the epitome of a true sportsman and champion in every sense of the word. We’ve been talking about skiing together for such a long time I wasn’t sure if it would happen…. But here we are; retired, skiing, and enjoying life! Thanks for this memory Rog.  posted Vonn on her Instagram

The friendship between Federer and Vonn dates way back to when the American skiing champion was still debating on what she likes to do best. Having tried out different sports, Vonn has always felt attached to tennis at some level. After a lot of planning, the friends finally spent the day together skiing.

She also praised Federer for his sportsmanship and trying to ski beside the Olympics winner. In addition to the note she had written, the former Olympics winner had indirectly started the GOAT debate, which triggered a lot of reactions from the fans.

Lindsey Vonn takes down post after indirectly starting a GOAT debate involving Roger Federer

Former Olympic winner Lindsey Vonn shared a heartfelt post for Roger Federer after the two spent time gliding down the white hills.

While the note she had written for the Swiss star was full of gratitude for her friend, she had called Federer the GOAT, which sparked a wave of reaction from the fans. The post written with only respect for her friend, received a lot of negative comments from the fans, forcing her to take the post down on X.

You and your family are truly one of a kind and no matter what the statistics say (or Leo lol) you’re my forever goat, because it’s not about the stats but the impact you have made on me, and I’m just one of millions. Cheers my friend. posted Vonn

Post this, she received a lot of negative comments as she accidentally incited the GOAT debate and the Novak Djokovic fans were all over her. These debates will go on for a long period of time, and every small unintended mention will trigger millions of people, starting a war online.
