Let him cook. Howie Roseman has been non-stop the last couple of days, making trade after trade in an effort to continue to build a dynasty in Philadelphia. While Roseman has done a decent job of adding players to the Eagles, he's also been stockpiling draft capital.

ESPN believes that Roseman will put that capital to good use, as they expect the Eagles' general manager to utilize two draft picks to acquire a disgruntled and dominant pass rusher. Bill Barnwell put out that he believes the Eagles will trade Edge Jalyx Hunt, a 2026 third-round pick, and a 2027 conditional pick for Trey Hendrickson to the Bengals.

How would the Eagles look after the potential game-changing trade with Bengals?

It's no secret that the Eagles will be relying on a young defensive line after losing Josh Sweat, Brandon Graham, Milton Williams, and Bryce Huff. While Roseman was extremely proactive in the draft, procuring some "affordable" veteran options, including Azeez Ojulari and Josh Uche. Hendrickson's presence would automatically upgrade the Eagles' defensive front, giving them a proven but aging star on the defensive line.

The Eagles will need to get slightly creative on Hendrickson's deal, in addition to figuring out if Hendrickson would want to play without an extension. Roseman does have some leeway, as Jordan Davis is due $12.9 million in 2026, Jalen Carter and Nolan Smith aren't eligible for extensions until next offseason, and Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean are on rookie deals until 2027 at the earliest.

Roseman has leverage in this situation with the Bengals and could capitalize on it. Hendrickson doesn't want to be there, and the Bengals are not particularly interested in paying him for a long-term deal. With both of these statements being the obvious, Roseman may be able to get Hendrickson on a cheaper price in regard to draft capital, along with possibly a lower AAV on an extension.

Regardless, if Hendrickson and Roseman are to make a deal, it should happen within the next couple of days—the Eagles kick off in Week 1 against the Dallas Cowboys in an effort to defend their 2024 title.
