Packers quarterback Jordan Love is widely viewed as one of the premier young players at his position, and is a linchpin to Green Bay’s Super Bowl aspirations this season. Not everyone is bullish on Love’s 2025 trajectory.

Love is looking not just to rebound from a nagging injury last season, but prove that he is capable of leading Green Bay on a deep postseason run and legitimate charge at the Lombardi, this season.

ESPN Bearish on Packers QB Jordan Love

Love entered last season as one of the highest-ranking quarterbacks in ESPN’s preseason rankings and one of the to players in the league, checking in at No. 56 on the outlet’s preseason ranking of the NFL’s top 100 players.

This summer, with Week 1 rapidly approaching, the 26-year-old Love tumbles to No. 86 overall.

“Love’s production dipped in Year 2 as a starter,” ESPN’s Rob Demovsky writes. “But the Packers are partially chalking that up to his Week 1 knee injury that kept him out for two games and significantly limited his mobility. They hope he can get back to making more plays on the move this season. “I think that’s a huge weapon,” offensive coordinator Adam Stenavich said.”

If Love returns to his 2023 form, and forms an instant connection with the likes of Matthew Golden, and rookie Savion Williams, while building on the chemistry he’s built with tight end Tucker Kraft, the Packers have the potential to be an even more explosive offense.

However, if Love struggles, or isn’t able to be the kind of mobile quarterback he has flashed in the past, Green Bay’s offense may need to adapt this fall.
