Evan Neal’s NFL career has been a complete disappointment. Ever since the New York Giants drafted him 7th overall during the 2022 NFL draft, it has not panned out. Whether it has been poor play or his mouth getting him in trouble, it’s just a bad situation. Well, it just got worse with his latest performances, and it’s safe to say this is his lowest point as a New York Giant.
Evan Neal’s career has been a mess since he made that stupid comment mocking his fans. Even though he apologized for that ridiculous comment, he’s never recovered and has lost all confidence from the coaches and the fanbase. Heck, that Don Lagreca rage on Evan Neal was legendary.
His on-play performance as a tackle has been horrendous. So, the giants, in a last-ditch effort, decided to change their position. Instead of playing at tackle, he has been moved to guard. Many thought that Neal would finally be the blocker he was in Alabama.
Why would a lion concern himself with the opinion of a sheep? … The person who’s commenting on my performance, what does he do? Flip hot dogs and hamburgers somewhere?”
Unfortunately, the move to guard hasn’t worked out, and that performance against the Patriots was dreadful. His footwork is a mess, his play was super slow, and backup defenders were just toying with Evan Neal all game. His performance was so bad that the national broadcast of the match showed lowlights of Neal’s play. That’s just sad and goes to show how horrendous he was.
It’s become clear that Evan Neal will not work for the New York Giants, either in the short term or the long term. It would not be a shock if his name ends up on the final cut list with all the preseason games finished. Evan Neal’s rise and fall have been super stunning, and if he wants to resurrect his career, he needs a change of scenery. However, with that performance against the New England Patriots, he may be too far gone.
