In the Chicago Sky's first game of 2025, Angel Reese made an impact with 12 points and 17 rebounds. Although she only hit 5 of 14 shots, she still led her team in scoring.
The Sky faced a tough challenge as four players from Indiana scored in double digits, with Caitlin Clark achieving her third career triple-double by contributing 20 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists.
Following the game, the former LSU Tigers great spoke with the media.
On the hard foul by Caitlin Clark as she went for a layup.
Angel: Basketball play, refs got it right, move on.
On how the team controlled the paint, boards, and transitions on defense.
Angel: Yeah, I don't think we did them at the best that we could. First game, we got to look back at the film and do things better. I think we had good spurts where we can see we can definitely get back and rebound and play in transition. So, I think we just go back to the drawing board and look at those things.
How do you put this game in perspective in the overall big picture?
Angel: It’s May. We don't want to look the same now in July. So, take one game at a time…we have 43 games left, so, just taking our time, day by day, and learning from mistakes.

On the offense creating shots early on.
Angel: Yeah, I think we got some great shots. We may not have made them all, but it’s game one…it’s good to see we can execute at half-court, and just being able to get those shots and get those open looks.
On her comfort level being out at the perimeter more.
Angel: Yeah, I felt fine. Obviously, some more shots, some more opportunities I could have made tonight. So, just going back to the drawing board and looking at our film, and watching for things I can get better at.
