Bo Melton spent five seasons as a wide receiver at Rutgers, totaling 164 receptions for 2,011 yards with 11 touchdowns. Melton was then selected in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks.
In December 2022, the Green Bay Packers signed Melton to the active roster off the Seahawks' practice squad, and he has been there ever since.
Melton caught 24 passes for 309 yards with one touchdown in 22 games with the Packers. However, this past offseason, he transitioned from wide receiver to cornerback in hopes of staying on the 53-man roster.
On Tuesday, the rosters were trimmed down to 53 players across the NFL. However, Melton managed to make the roster as a cornerback.

Melton's transition from wide receiver to cornerback had been in the works for some time, and now he officially stays on as one of six cornerbacks on the Green Bay roster.
Packers head coach Matt LaFleur revealed he had presented Melton with the idea previously, per Rob Demovsky of ESPN.
"I know there's a lot of attention with Hunter down there in Jacksonville with what he's doing," LaFleur said. "So we just kinda presented it to him, and he said he was up for the challenge."
Packers GM Brian Gutekunst also said it was something they had talked about for some time.
"We've talked about this for a couple of years, just his skill set and how versatile he is," Gutekunst said. "You watch him on [special teams] and you're like, 'Wow, he can probably do some of that.' I think it's just something we're going to look at and see if it's a possibility."
While Melton didn't want to compare himself to Travis Hunter, the former Seahawks WR did mention he has versatility.
"I'm very versatile. Some things I like doing at receiver can make me be open for wideout," Melton said via ESPN. "Some things at corner that I've done that have shown this team, these coaches, that [I] probably could work at corner. It's just something they want to look at. I don't have a problem with it as long as everything's right."
On the other hand, Jordan Love said it was confusing seeing Melton on defense instead of offense, per Demovsky.
"That was definitely confusing," Love said. "During the jog-through, I was mentioning that it looked like Bo was a receiver out there, but he was actually playing DB, so I was trying not to throw it to him."
In the preseason, Melton recorded four solo tackles with one pass deflection, and now he earns the right to make the 53-man roster.
The other cornerbacks on the Green Bay roster are Nate Hobbs, Keisean Nixon, Carrington Valentine, Kamal Hadden and Micah Robinson.
