Eljif Elmas to Napoli is close to being finalised.
And the timing is right too, given that in recent days the club has focused solely on the Macedonian (a much-anticipated return) and on Højlund.
For Elmas, there is already an agreement with Leipzig: €2 million for the loan and a €16 million buy option, with work still being done on a bonus tied to Champions League qualification – but we are truly in the final stages now.
This is a deal we have been reporting to you exclusively since August 11 and we held our line even when other names were being linked with Napoli. Now we are in full countdown mode.
The North Macedonian midfielder joined German outfit RB Leipzig from Napoli for a reported €23 million in January 2024 and played a supporting role in the second half of the Bundesliga side’s season.
Last season, Elmas was sent on loan to Torino with an option-to-buy. The midfielder played 13 games in Serie A, scoring four goals.
