The 2026 Formula 1 season begins at Melbourne’s Albert Park Circuit with the Australian Grand Prix, as teams return to competitive action after months of preseason preparation.

The buildup to the season opener has not been without complications, as the recent Middle East crisis disrupted travel and delayed the arrival of some Ferrari crew members in Melbourne. However, the race weekend schedule at Albert Park remains unchanged.

All ten returning teams will take to the track across the traditional three-day weekend of practice, qualifying, and the race. The grid also expands this year with Cadillac F1 joining as Formula 1’s 11th team, bringing the total field to 22 cars.

The expanded grid has already led to several regulatory adjustments. The most recent change occurs in the pit lane, where the speed limit has been reduced from 80 km/h to 60 km/h to enhance safety, as more cars are now operating during pit stops.

Qualifying procedures have also been revised to accommodate the larger grid. Six cars will now be eliminated in both Q1 and Q2 instead of five, while session durations have been set at 18 minutes for Q1, 15 minutes for Q2, and 13 minutes for Q3.

Below is the complete schedule for the race weekend at the Melbourne Grand Prix Circuit.
