FanDuel has banned an unidentified man from using its platform after he was seen heckling Olympic gold medalist Gabby Thomas at a recent track and field event, ESPN reported. The man even provided the evidence on social media afterward, posting a video on X of him shouting insults at Thomas before a race at a Grand Slam Track Event in Philadelphia.

“I made Gabby lose by heckling her,” he wrote. “And it made my parlay win.”

Seeing that the harrassment was continuing online, Thomas did not back down and wrote her own response back. She explained that the short one-minute video showed only a fraction of what she endured at the track that day.

“This grown man followed me around the track as I took pictures and signed autographs for fans (mostly children) shouting personal insults- anybody who enables him online is gross,” she wrote.

The X account that posted the video goes by the username “Mr100kaday.” He describes himself as “The Track and Field Bully” in his bio. FanDuel addressed its decision to ban the user in a statement to ESPN, calling the behavior “unacceptable.”

“FanDuel condemns in the strongest terms abusive behavior directed towards athletes,” the statement read. “Threatening or harassing athletes is unacceptable and has no place in sports. This customer is no longer able to wager with FanDuel.”

As of this writing, the man’s real name is still unknown as all we have is his social media alias. This is often an issue that makes it difficult for the people who harrass athletes online to face much punishment, according to ESPN.

Thankfully, FanDuel is doing its part to mark sure there are at least some consequences for the man in this case with Gabby Thomas. In addition to the ban from the sportsbook, Grand Slam Track also released a statement in which it said it is investigating the matter with hopes of identifying the man.

“We are working to identify the individual involved and will take appropriate action as necessary,” Grand Slam Track said. “We will implement additional safeguards to help prevent incidents like this in the future. Let us be clear, despicable behavior like this will not be tolerated.”
