Earlier this week sports fans learned an iconic ESPN show will be no more after the summer of 2025.
According to a report from the New York Post , ESPN plans to cancel 'Around the Horn' after more than two decades on TV. ESPN's 'Happy Hour' window from 5-6 p.m. ET sported the iconic show along with 'Pardon the Interruption' featuring hosts Tony Kornheiser and Michael Wilbon.
The two hosts will be missing their afternoon window partner when 'Around the Horn' comes to a close next summer. According to the report from the New York Post, 'PTI' "creator and executive producer Erik Rydholm has also overseen 'Around the Horn' since Tony Reali became host in 2004."
He reportedly plans to "discuss new concepts" to fill the void left by ESPN's decision to move on from 'Around the Horn.'
Fans weren't too pleased with the Worldwide Leader's decision to axe the popular show.
"An all timer. One of the major reasons I went into the media. ATH-PTI back to back was all time TV," one person said.
"What will we watch in airport bars now?," joked another.
"Canceling an American sports television institution, have some god [expletive] shame ESPN," offered another.
"Afternoons with Around the Horn and PTI were a staple growing up, man. This stinks," said another.
"This is such a mistake. Around The Horn has been a huge catalyst for so many of us growing up and it was integral in allowing viewpoints from around the country. We could use MORE of it, not less," added another.
Fans clearly aren't happy with the decision from ESPN.
