Cam Calhoun established himself as a star in the making at Utah this past season, and being that it was only his redshirt freshman season, many fans were ecstatic when he announced that he was coming back.
However, Calhoun then announced he entered the portal in a shocking turn of events, even to the players, and after nearly two weeks of wondering if he would come back like Isaac Wilson, or be gone for good, Chris Hummer and Matt Zenitz have reported that he is expected to transfer to Alabama.
During the 2024 season, Calhoun tallied 21 total tackles, with 12 of them being solo efforts, while also recording nine passes defended and an interception, so when he announced his entry into the portal, he was getting a lot of interest.
Should the 6-foot 177-pound cornerback make his transfer to the Crimson Tide a reality, they would become his third college program in as many years since he started his collegiate career with Michigan where he didn't see the field triggering his move to Salt Lake City.
His absence would be a tough loss for the unit, however, his spot has already been patched up and reinforced during Utah's incredibly successful transfer window as cornerbacks Donovan Saunders, Blake Cotton, and Jeremiah Caldwell have all joined the ranks, making the Utes defensive back room just as if not more formidable than ever before.
