Marcus Thuram and Alessandro Bastoni ran the show as Inter Milan put Torino to the sword in their opening Serie A outing.
According to Corriere dello Sport via FCInterNews, both Nerazzurri stars impressed in last night’s 5-0 victory at San Siro.
The second half of last season was difficult for Marcus Thuram.
Indeed, recurring fitness problems and a significant drop-off in form derailed his first-team status.
However, the 27-year-old went from strength to strength in his first league appearance under Cristian Chivu.
Marcus Thuram netted on either side of halftime en route to winning the ‘Man of the Match’ award.
Firstly, he put Inter 2-0 up with a clinical finish late in the first half. Then, he killed the game off with a towering header early in the second period.
Meanwhile, Bastoni opened the scoring in the 18th minute, meeting Nicolo Barella’s corner-kick delivery at the near post.
In addition to the goal, the star defender held up his end of the bargain at the back, neutralizing Giovanni Simeone.
