West Virginia is hovering right around that scholarship limit of 85 heading into spring ball. With high school commits, signees, and more transfers on the way, you can expect a handful of departures in the coming months.

The transfer portal is closed, but grad transfers are allowed to enter at any time and on Wednesday, West Virginia fullback Luke Hamilton did exactly that, according to Rivals.com.

Hamilton transferred to West Virginia from Towson and in one year with the Mountaineers, he served as an extra blocker in heavy sets and played some special teams.

Hamilton dealt with some injuries in each of the two seasons prior to coming to Morgantown, but he still earned All-CAA Second Team honors at the end of the 2021 season and was named on the CAA preseason all-conference team in 2022. His last full season with the Tigers, Hamilton helped pave the way for the rushing attack which averaged 4.4 yards per carry in 2019.
