George Bower has prolonged his contract with the Crusaders and New Zealand. The 32-year-old New Zealand player began his rugby career at the Avalon Rugby Club in Wellington and has come a long way since then.

Bower first made a mark by representing the Wellington U20s in 2011 as a prop. His rugby journey has been impressive, culminating in his recent decision to re-sign his contract with both the All Blacks and the Crusaders until 2027.

Looking at the All Blacks' prop stats for the 2024/2025 seasons, it is clear that he will continue to play a major role in leading his team to victory. His determination shines through as he aims to become a member of the franchise’s 100-game club.

Since making his debut in 2019, Bower has played in 81 matches, displaying remarkable skill and dedication on the field. In a statement on the official Crusaders website, Bower expressed his sentiments on what drove his decision to re-sign.

"A huge driving factor for me re-signing was the way the Crusaders have made me feel since I've been here from day one. It's part of me now, it's part of my DNA and being able to come to work every day with great people is a huge force that's kept me here," said Bower.

Crusaders coach Rob Penney expressed his excitement about keeping this talented rugby star for another two years. “George is an outstanding individual that contributes to every area of the game for us. We're seeing continued development in George's rugby and believe the best is yet to come for him,” Penney said. They envision him playing in the next Rugby World Cup.
