The Georgia Bulldogs lost the recruiting battle on five-star offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell to the Miami Hurricanes. The Bulldogs could also lose another prospect to the Hurricanes.
That prospect has the potential to flip to a few other schools too according to On3's Chad Simmons.
Simmons reported on May 9 that four-star wide receiver Vance Spafford is still "looking" in recruiting despite giving the Bulldogs a verbal commitment.
"Vance Spafford is committed to Georgia, but multiple other schools are working hard to flip the talented wide receiver from the Bulldogs," Simmons wrote. "Miami and Washington are the two biggest threats to the SEC program.
"Both schools have given him a lot to think about. Local schools UCLA and USC keep communication open too."
Losing Spafford to the Hurricanes would be particularly tough.
Five-star offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell chose to commit to Miami instead of Georgia on Tuesday. According to the 247 Sports composite rankings, Cantwell is the No. 1 prospect in the 2026 class.

Although the Bulldogs lost out on Cantwell, they did receive a commitment from five-star quarterback Jared Curtis on May 5. The 247 Sports composite rankings rate Curtis the No. 1 signal caller for 2026.
Spafford is currently the top-rated receiver committed to Georgia in the class, giving him an excellent chance to build chemistry with Curtis. But Spafford is apparently still looking for other opportunities.
Standing at 5-foot-11 and 175 pounds, Spafford is from Mission Viego, Calif., which could give West coast programs an opportunity to court the receiver away from the Bulldogs.
According to the 247 Sports composite rankings, Spafford is the No. 10 receiver and 74th overall prospect in the 2026 class.
