Georgia Tech vs Wake Forest Prediction: Can the Yellow Jackets Keep Rolling?
© Brett Davis-Imagn Images

Wake Forest is just getting going under head coach Jake Dickert.

It'll take some time to get the parts he needs over the next few years, but he knows how to get an offense going, his team wasn't bad in a loss to NC State, and it's rested.

With four of the next five games on the road, it has to put a stop to the amazing run Georgia Tech is on.

Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets vs Wake Forest Demon Deacons Preview

The win at Colorado to start the season was great, taking out Clemson was fantastic, and now at 4-0, everything is humming.

With no Miami, Florida State, or Louisville to face, and the toughest ACC game the rest of the way either at Duke or at NC State, everything is set up perfectly.

The one area that's a problem - ball control - isn't an issue. Wake Forest doesn't care a lick about the time of possession battle, but ...

Why Wake Forest Will Win

The wounds are mostly self-inflicted.

The Demon Deacons couldn't seem to turn the yards into points in the weird 10-9 win over Kennesaw State, the three turnovers made the blowout over Western Carolina look better than it was, and the two picks thrown against NC State hurt.

Georgia Tech is doing plenty of things right, but it's not forcing a ton of takeaways. Wake Forest has to keep the offense moving, hit the midrange throws, score whenever there's a chance in the red zone, and ...

Can Wake Forest Stop Georgia Tech's Ground Game?

Not really.

The Yellow Jackets made the Temple game easy by ripping off big game after big game, and it was able to survive Colorado by controlling the game on the ground in the blast of a road date.

Georgia Tech won't take any chances. It'll run 35 times, try to keep King from getting popped, and go into the week off to get its beaten-up quarterback as close to healthy as possible.
