Get ready for Chiefs' Week 7 game vs. Chargers
Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

The Kansas City Chiefs (5-1) are set to face the Los Angeles Chargers (2-3) in Week 7 of the 2023 NFL season.

It's the first time these two teams will have squared off this year, but they're all too familiar with each other. The Chargers have their backs against the wall and are desperate for a win in Kansas City. The Chiefs, however, are looking to keep their winning streak alive before heading to Denver in Week 8.

Below you'll find all of our top stories throughout the week in order to get you ready for the upcoming game on Sunday afternoon.

One player ruled out on final injury report:

The Kansas City Chiefs are about as healthy as they could possibly be heading into Week 7's game against the Los Angeles Chargers. While they received good and bad news on Justin Watson early in the week, they're really quite healthy otherwise. Travis Kelce bears some monitoring for a specific reason. There was also another late-week practice injury that left a player questionable.

Patrick Mahomes is the Chiefs' emergency. . . punter?

No, Chiefs ST coordinator Dave Toub wasn't making a joke about arm punts on Thursday. He was dead serious when he told reporters that Patrick Mahomes was the team's emergency backup punter with Tommy Townsend dealing with a knee injury. Don't believe Toub? No. 15 himself chimed in on the social media app formerly known as Twitter.

Mecole Hardman on what's different this time around:

The Chiefs traded with the Jets to acquire WR Mecole Hardman. He's expected to make his 2023 debut for Kansas City in Week 7, but what has changed for the returning wideout? He provided some details on Thursday.

Charles Omenihu set to return for Week 7:

Omenihu is back after serving a six-game suspension. He'll likely be eased back into action, but his situation is different being that he went through the entirety of training camp and the preseason.

Throw up the "X" for Dante Hall:

Dante Hall is a man of many nicknames and this Sunday will serve as a celebration for the Kansas City legend. One of the all-time greats in Chiefs franchise history, Hall, is set to be honored in multiple ways in Week 7.

Andy Reid was bribed by Snickers to re-create an iconic commercial.

If you haven't seen Andy Reid's new Snickers advertisement, you're missing out. He elaborated on his involvement on Friday: "I have no acting ability. That's about as close to being a coach as we could get. Plus, they gave me some free Snickers."
