The UFL announced this week that they were giving out the postseason awards. The 2025 UFL Postseason Honors were announced in the week leading up to the UFL Championship game. Here’s the list of awards and some thoughts and criticisms about the choices.

Bryce Perkins was solid and almost unstoppable when he played. Besides nine touchdowns passing he also rushed for five touchdowns.  Despite dominance when he did play, he ended up fourth in passing yards in the UFL this year. In addition, he’s the first quarterback chosen for MVP.

Perkins played for the Michigan Panthers in the UFL during the 2025 season. Here’s a couple of important stats about his 2025 Season:

Games Played/Started: 7 games, started 6

  • Passing: 109 completions out of 158 attempts (69% completion rate), 1,342 passing yards, 9 passing touchdowns, 2 interceptions, 108.7 quarterback rating
  • Rushing: 47 carries, 269 rushing yards, 5 rushing touchdowns
  • Total Yards: 1,611 (passing + rushing)
  • Total Touchdowns: 14 (9 passing, 5 rushing)
  • Notable Achievements:
    • Named UFL Offensive Player of the Year (June 10, 2025)

Named UFL MVP (June 13, 2025)

  • Selected to the 2025 All-UFL team
  • Won Offensive Player of the Week three times

Was it Controversial? He was only fourth in passing yards, only had nine passing touchdowns, and started only 6 games, though he played in seven. Taking that in NFL terms ; it’s like starting nine games out of 17. In the USFL Conference Championship game, Perkins contributed significantly with a 20/25 passing performance, 238 yards and a touchdown. He also rushed eight times for 34 yards and a touchdown. During the season, Perkins missed three games due to injury but led the Panthers to a 6-4 regular-season record and a berth in the 2025 UFL Championship game against the D.C. Defenders.

The other main contender was Jordan T’amu, QB for the Washington Defenders. He threw for 2156 yards, almost 500 more than Perkins, and 17 touchdowns, eight more than the MVP. He got stats from seven games, 1 more than Perkins, but Perkins prevailed among the voters. The only comparable seasons were in NBA history when Bill Walton won MVP with only 58 games, and when Earl Campbell won NFL MVP with nine games played out of 14.
