Glorious has carved a niche for itself in the realm of high-performance gaming peripherals, not just with its flashy LED-lit devices but also with its more subdued designs that wouldn't look out of place in a professional setting. Among their latest offerings, the Model D 2 Wireless stands out as a prime example of how functionality meets form in the gaming gear arena.

Design and Aesthetics

At first glance, the Model D 2 Wireless may seem like just another gaming mouse, but its design speaks volumes about Glorious's commitment to ergonomic comfort without sacrificing the visual appeal. The mouse is designed specifically for right-handed users with medium to large hands, and it fits naturally in the hand with a sweep to the right that naturally contours to your grip, promising comfort even during prolonged gaming sessions. I personally prefer a mouse with a more bulbous chassis, but after just a short amount of time I had adapted to it. Using my thumb and little finger, I claw the mouse. And I feel as though this actually gives me more accuracy in my pointing.

On that note, while the mouse looks visually brilliant with its white paint and internal LEDs, this mouse isn't just about looks; it's built for performance. Weighing just around 66 grams (±3g variance), it's incredibly light yet feels sturdy in the hand. The sweeping ergonomic shape, much like Logitech mice, ensures that it is both pleasing to the eye and practical. The low weight takes a moment to get used to, but needs such little physical input to move it feels like you're almost floating.

You can add more feet to increase its surface grip if you want, but I've left mine without.

Performance and Customization

The Model D 2 Wireless is equipped with the BAMF 2.2eK Optical Sensor, ensuring precise tracking with no lag. The tri-mode connectivity offers versatility with lag-free 2.4 GHz, efficient Bluetooth 5.2 LE, and a wired option for those who prefer a traditional connection.

Customization is a breeze with the Glorious CORE software, though it's optional. It allows users to tailor everything from DPI settings (up to 26,000) to RGB lighting. The mouse can store up to three custom profiles directly onboard, making it easy to switch settings between games or workstations. And beyond that, it looks beautiful. So many times have a I wrestled with software for hardware that not only doesn't work overly well, but looks awful as I do it. This has the best of both worlds.

Battery Life and Connectivity

One of the standout features of the Model D 2 Wireless is its battery life. On a full charge, it can last up to 110 hours on 2.4GHz and an impressive 210 hours on Bluetooth. This is especially significant for gamers who dislike frequent recharging interruptions. Be aware you'll likely have to turn the brightness of the internal LEDs down for this, but they are incredibly strong either way so you won't be disappointed.

Verdict

The Glorious Model D 2 Wireless doesn't just aim to meet the basic needs of gamers but exceeds expectations with its thoughtful design, superior comfort, and versatile performance capabilities. While it maintains a professional look, it doesn't shy away from providing the "gaming sizzle" with its customizable RGB lighting and high DPI range.

While primarily aimed at right-handed users, its design is so refined that even left-handed users might find it tempting to adapt. Its competitive edge is further sharpened by the inclusion of features like adjustable lift-off distance and remappable buttons, which are often reserved for more expensive models.

Overall, the Glorious Model D 2 Wireless is an excellent choice for both hardcore gamers and professionals who desire a mouse that offers both style and substantial substance.
