The Gophers men's basketball program has extended a scholarship to North Dakota's top basketball recruit, Tommy Ahneman. The offer comes after an unofficial visit to the U, according to a social media post from Ahneman.

Ahneman is a 6-foot-11, 240-pound center out of West Fargo, N.D. He is the top-ranked recruit in North Dakota's 2025 class, according to recruiting service On3.

In 2023, Ahneman led Sheyenne High School to a Class 2A state title as he averaged 20.3 points, 13.3 rebounds, 2.2 blocks and 1.9 assists per game. He was named the 2023 North Dakota Gatorade Player of the Year.

According to 247Sports, Ahneman has also received offers from Iowa, Nebraska, Penn State, DePaul, Old Dominion, Furman and Weber State.
