The Green Bay Packers have bolstered their offensive line depth ahead of Tuesday’s roster deadline, acquiring tackle Darian Kinnard from the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for a 2027 sixth-round draft pick, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
The 25-year-old Kinnard brings a championship pedigree to Green Bay, having won three consecutive Super Bowl titles with the Kansas City Chiefs (2022-2023) and Philadelphia Eagles (2024). Now he’ll chase a fourth straight championship with the Packers in 2025.
Despite his championship success, Kinnard has seen minimal regular-season action during his three NFL campaigns. He appeared in just one game with Kansas City in 2022 before spending the 2023 season on their practice squad. In Philadelphia in 2024, he played in two games, including one start, logging 68 snaps at right tackle in the Eagles’ season finale against the New York Giants.
In that start, Kinnard allowed one sack and three total pressures—a respectable showing for a player with limited experience. This preseason, he totaled 101 snaps for Philadelphia, splitting time between right guard (70 snaps) and right tackle (31 snaps) while allowing six pressures.
The move represents a reunion of sorts for Green Bay, as Kinnard visited the Packers as one of their 30 pre-draft prospects in 2022. The former Kentucky standout was a two-time All-SEC selection and consensus All-American in 2021 before Kansas City selected him 145th overall in the fifth round.
The trade addresses the Packers’ pressing need for offensive line depth as they navigate several injuries heading into Tuesday’s roster cuts. Kinnard is expected to secure the eighth or ninth offensive line spot on the 53-man roster, pending a physical examination.
His versatility to play both tackle and guard positions makes him a valuable addition to head coach Matt LaFleur’s offense, providing insurance for a unit that must protect quarterback Jordan Love as Green Bay pursues its championship goals.
The relatively modest cost—a sixth-round pick two years away—suggests the Packers view Kinnard as a low-risk, high-upside addition who could develop into a reliable contributor along their offensive front.
