Wide receiver Malik Heath doesn’t have to find a new job after he made the Green Bay Packers’ 53-man roster on Tuesday. Heath will be playing his third season in the NFL in 2025, as he looks to contribute much more meaningful numbers to the Jordan Love-led passing attack. Heath already got a good omen about his chances to make the team when the Packers decided to let go of three-time Super Bowl champion and former Patrick Mahomes weapon, Mecole Hardman.
Heath joins Romeo Doubs, Jayden Reed, Dontayvion Wicks, Matthew Golden and Savion Williams in the Packers’ wide receiver room heading into the 2025 campaign. Christian Watson is the other wide receiver in Green Bay’s fold, but he is on the physically unable to perform list. Apart from Hardman, the other wide receivers cut by the Packers were Julian Hicks, Cornelius Johnson, Will Sheppard and Isaiah Neyor.
On social media, Heath reflected on his journey in the NFL with a short but powerful message he wrote on a photo that shows him seemingly signing his jersey for a fan.
“3rd [folded hands emoji] I’m truly blessed,” wrote Heath.
Over the last two seasons, both with the Packers, Heath recorded 222 receiving yards and three touchdowns with 11 first downs on 25 receptions and 37 targets through 26 games (two starts).
Heath was undrafted in 2023, but was given a chance by the Packers, who signed him to a contract following that year’s NFL draft.
