Sanders has made the “wrist-up” celebration popular while he was with the Colorado Buffaloes. Now, he has a chance to make the signature celebration a thing on the big stage in the NFL after being selected by the Browns in last week’s NFL draft.
Cleveland took two quarterbacks by surprise and opted not to pass up Sanders in the fifth round after already taking Dillon Gabriel. Now, both rookies will fight for a spot on the depth chart for Cleveland.
Sanders isn’t guaranteed a spot with the Browns after being picked on Day 3 of the draft. Though he does have the popularity that an NFL team would gladly have around for dollar sign reasons if the talent is there. It is now up to Sanders to prove his with to the Browns from now through training camp. The rookie quarterback will get a chance to compete with Gabriel, Joe Flacco, and Kenny Pickett.
Fans will buy in on Sanders if he proves himself. He has a personality that is easy for fans to get behind with the swagger he brings to the field. Ramírez knew what he was doing with the celebration. Sanders is a hot topic right now in The Land.
