Gulf Shores’ standout, Carter Davis has quickly risen into the national spotlight, earning recognition as a top wide receiver prospect in the class of 2027.
Davis already holds offers from Alabama, Auburn, Arkansas, LSU, Tennessee, West Virginia and others, placing him firmly on the radar of some of college football’s biggest programs.
While several schools are pursuing him, Davis says his most consistent contact has come from Alabama, LSU and West Virginia. In fact, Alabama wide receivers coach JaMarcus Shephard recently left him a personal message, inviting Davis to campus for the Crimson Tide’s matchup against Tennessee. Davis, with a laugh, countered that he’d prefer to be in the building for the LSU game instead.
“That’s big for me for Alabama to hit me up,” Davis said. “Coach Shephard was very excited, and I was as well.”
Davis has a busy schedule this fall as he plans to visit Auburn University on Sept. 6, the University of Alabama on Nov. 8 and LSU on Nov. 11.
Carter also spoke on his relationship with West Virginia and Tennessee.
“I have a great relationship with Coach (Mack) Scanlon (Tennessee Offensive Scouting Coordinator) and Coach (Logan) Bradley (West Virginia Inside Receiver Coach),” Davis said. “We are consistently speaking and building a relationship. I plan to visit West Virginia on Sept. 13.”
The attention is well deserved. Davis’ athleticism, explosiveness and versatility make him one of the most promising young prospects in the 2027 class.
