"Into the Spider-Verse" actress Hailee Steinfeld and Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen revealed on Friday night that they're officially engaged.
Allen actually proposed to Steinfeld last Friday during Buffalo's bye week. The setup for their special day was truly breathtaking. Immediately after they announced their engagement, countless fans congratulated them on social media. Judging by some people's comments though, not everyone was thrilled.
Shameik Moore, one of Steinfeld's co-stars from "Into the Spider-Verse," seemed pretty devastated about the news. He posted this message on X: "There’s still more people to meet. More opportunities to come. And more chances to try. Live, learn, apply."
That message from Moore could just be a coincidence, but it was posted the same time Allen and Steinfeld went public with their engagement.
After fans started mocking Moore on social media, he fired back, saying "Also crazy what y'all decide to engage with when I post."
Fans quickly pointed out how Moore put the word "engage" in his post. As the Joker said in "The Dark Knight," that's a very poor choice of words.
Moore wasn't done going on a rant. He then wrote, "Y'all been twisting my words and [expletive] wit my name for years now."
It's possible that Moore was just talking about something else, not Steinfeld's relationship status. However, he did himself no favors with his comments on social media.
Moore and Steinfeld have worked on two films together so far in their respective careers. They're set to work on a third "Spider-Verse" movie in the future. We're not sure if this whole fiasco on social media will make that an awkward shoot.
