The Oklahoma Sooners have just about wrapped up their 2026 class, with the hopes of adding Jake Kreul and Davian Gorce still. But, there is still a lot of work left for the class, a lot of which has to do with securing the commitments they already have.
So, the Sooners have started working on their 2027 class, which would be general manager Jim Nagy's first full recruiting cycle. So, it's time to get to work, and for the Sooners, they've already been doing that, and have actually scheduled a visit with an elite 2027 four-star OL.
They are looking to add Cameron Wagner, as he would be a huge addition to a class that could use some more OL talent.
Wagner is a four-star offensive tackle from the class of 2027, and a kid that most of the country wants to get on to their campus for a visit. He is a standout prospect from St. Joseph-Ogden High School in Illinois and one of the best players in his state for his class. At 6'6" and 300 pounds, he’s a dominant left tackle ranked No. 154 overall, No. 5 in Illinois, and No. 15 at his position by Rivals.
And, he has the size already, even as a 2027 player, to play in the SEC on the offensive line. And, his technique shouldn't be an issue, as neither should strength, considering Wagner also does wrestling.
He’s received 13 scholarship offers from top programs like Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State, Nebraska, Illinois, Iowa, Purdue, Florida, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Louisville, Miami of Ohio, and Indiana. Nebraska, Illinois, Notre Dame, Penn State, and Ohio State are among his top choices, but a lot can change between now and then.
Wagner was impressed by Nebraska’s facilities and coaching during an April 2025 visit. Illinois has prioritized him, hosting him for a spring practice and their Big Man Camp in June 2025. Notre Dame’s academics and winning culture also appeal to him after an offer in March 2025. And Oklahoma is getting a chance soon to show what they have to offer.
