Highly Touted Star Sends Three-Word Message to New Georgia QB

The Georgia Bulldogs received huge news on the recruiting trail Monday. Five-star quarterback Jared Curtis chose to re-commit to the Bulldogs instead of the Oregon Ducks.

The decision didn't go unnoticed by fellow five-star recruit and offensive lineman Jackson Cantwell.

Cantwell, who was tagging Curtis in social media posts prior to the quarterback's final recruiting decision, delivered Curtis a short message on X (formerly Twitter) immediately following his Monday announcement.

"Congratulations, Jared Curtis," tweeted Cantwell, who used Curtis' handle as his name.

Cantwell sent the message as a quote tweet to On3's Hayes Fawcett's X post that broke the news of the quarterback's decision.

Cantwell is the next major recruit set to make his final commitment decision. The offensive lineman is expected to announce his decision on May 13.

Ironically, Cantwell's final two schools are the same as Curtis' -- Georgia and Oregon.

Last week, Cantwell tagged Curtis in his Instagram story with a picture of the quarterback in both a Bulldogs and Ducks uniform. The offensive tackle included the short phrase, "The Final 2" as a caption.

With Curtis electing to commit to Georgia, the Bulldogs should feel good about their chances of also landing the top offensive tackle.

Even before Curtis' decision, On3's Steve Wiltfong predicted Georgia is the favorite to land Cantwell. However, Wiltfong also reported Cantwell's recent visit to Oregon went very well and suggested it could have flipped the offensive tackle.

Had Curtis committed to the Ducks, more momentum likely would have been in Oregon's favor for Cantwell.

According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Cantwell and Curtis are the top two recruits in the 2026 class. Cantwell is the consensus top offensive tackle while Curtis is rated a top-five quarterback on all the major recruiting rankings.
