UConn Huskies women's basketball star Paige Bueckers continues to make history with the program.
Bueckers is already the fastest player to reach 2,000 points in program history, breaking Maya Moore's previous record of 108 games. The 23-year-old guard needed only 102 games to reach the milestone mark, which she did last January in a showdown with the Seton Hall Pirates.
On Wednesday, against Seton Hall once again, Bueckers reached another feat as she surpassed legend Diana Taurasi for No. 9 on the team's all-time scoring list.
Entering the game, Bueckers had 2,143 points and was trailing Taurasi (2,156 career points) by just 13 points. By the end of the showdown, the one-time AP Player of the Year moved up with 2,166 points.
Bueckers scored a team-high 23 points to lead the Huskies to a dominant 91-49 victory over the Pirates. She also tallied nine rebounds and five assists in the contest.
Paige Bueckers is averaging over 18 points per game this season, so she still has a chance to move up the UConn leaderboard.
With three regular season games left on the season, Bueckers is well on track to surpass Kerry Bascom (2,177 points), Nykesha Sales (2,178) and Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis (2,178) and make it to at least No. 6.
Cracking the Top 5 might be difficult for Bueckers, though, as Katie Lou Samuelson currently holds that spot with 2,342 points. Maya Moore remains UConn women's all-time leading scorer with 3,036 points.
